Actor Filmmaker Writer

It wasn't until Nitin Madan learnt of a scientific study, which established that people suffering from boredom were right up there with smokers and the gluttonous, likely to kick the bucket before their time, that he realized he needed to take his artistic passions to the next level.
The realization was that he had been taking reality more seriously than necessary and once out of its binds, he found that life offered much to make him curious.

The disengagement from reality allowed Nitin to believe that he had more going for him than just being a Palindrome*. Having a name that could be spelt the same backwards and forwards, had always been a successful party trick. So it wasn't much of a surprise that he began to identify himself with the word, telling people that he was a palindrome, leading many to believe that he was a variety of a brainless Alaskan bird (presumably on account of the word including the name of a former Governor of The Last Frontier state).

A Filmmaker and Writer by training from that esteemed bastion of pricey education, Columbia University, and an Actor by habit, Nitin has worked in theater, tv and film.

As a Producer and Director, he has found his calling in both documentary and fiction. He has chronicled artists, including the inimitable New York based Russell Connor; India's greatest painter, the late MF Husain; and the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier.

His foray into narrative features as Producer garnered him acclaim for the live action/ animation pic, “Colin Hearts Kay”.

Nitin Madan can be seen in the Netflix original series "Brown Nation", and "Metro Park" streaming on Eros Now.

Brown Nation (2016)  Only on Netflix

He is also the creator and star of the hit web comedy "LUCKY LAKHANPAL & SONS LLC" and will reprise the role of the sleazy Student Exporter in Season 2.

Nitin Madan has written on such diverse subjects as Film, Science, Wine, Cigars, Dance, as well as Children's Stories. He is currently writing his autobiography titled, “Genetic Garbage”, much to the dismay of his kindly gene donors.

*palindrome, for those who still dont get it, is a word that is spelt the same, backwards and forwards. For example, N-I-T-I-N!

No agent will tell you that he or she is a fraud - you will have to figure it out on your own. It helps to be aware of the telltale signs. Some of these are highlighted in a viral video campaign about a fictitious shady agent called Lucky Lakhanpal.

The series features New York based actor and producer – Nitin Madan, and is produced by BrainGain magazine in collaboration with Gutenberg Studios.

We like how the show, written by New York based Actor, Nitin Madan, is laced with humor through the comical misadventures of a self styled 'student exporter', Lucky Lakhanpal.

Nitin Madan, a Punjabi from New Delhi who lives in New York, strongly believes in luck. No one should come to New York, unless they are willing to be lucky, he says, quoting American writer EB White.

The Lucky Filmmaker: 9 Questions with Nitin Madan
The 2010 film, ‘Colin Hearts Kay’ was described by critics as being sweet, quirky, funny – and it won accolades at film festivals across the U.S. But the journey has been a learning experience, says the film’s maker – and he’s full of advice for students planning to follow in his footsteps.

Nitin Madan returned in his second play of the night and the last play in the first act, with Sara Minisquiero and Nic Tyler in “The Greenhouse,” written by Mark Cornell, and directed by Scott H. Schneider. “The Greenhouse” is a tale of two incompetent kidnappers who have kidnapped the wrong girl in Minisquiero’s character. Madan’s comedic timing is impeccable as he plays off Cornell serious demeanor, as Minisquiero is sneaky and hilarious with her antics on stage, this threesome is sure to make audiences laugh.

No disappointment with THE GREENHOUSE by Mark Cornell, helmed by Scott H. Schneider starring Nitin Madan, Sara Minisquiero & Nic Tyler. One of the best of the night, this comedic chiller, involving two idiot kidnappers and their demonic charge, gave us laughs and screams with some excellent acting and simple but engrossing staging.

Produced by Nitin Madan, 'Colin Hearts Kay' wins the Audience Choice Award at the prestigious Brooklyn International Film Festival in June, where it had its world premiere and was also the closing night film.
